So you want a career in acoustics?
This presentation will begin with how to pursue a career in AV and acoustics, and continue with what being an “audiovisual design consultant” means. Real project examples and stories will be included. A quick glimpse into what an acoustician does will also be discussed. It is an exciting field full of diverse projects. After will be be a time for questions and further discussion.

Liz Lamour is a consultant in the audiovisual systems design group at Cavanaugh Tocci Associates in Sudbury, MA and Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music. Liz earned her Master of Art in Architecture from the University of Kansas upon completion of Bob Coffeen’s architectural acoustics program in May 2012. Along with her Master’s diploma, she was also awarded a Newman Medal for her work measuring differences between source and listener locations in performance halls near KU. Liz attended Berklee College of Music in Boston for her undergraduate studies, and graduated magna cum laude with a dual-major Bachelor of Music degree in Music Production & Engineering and Professional Music. She began teaching Architectural Acoustics classes at Berklee this semester. Liz also is a violinist in the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra.
